Two days ago my friend Doug and I have left the beautiful Australia and set course towards amazing Asia. First stop Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. It was easy to see but still surprising how advanced, and organized they are. Clean city, peaceful people and a sense of security. Not wasting any time we dropped our bags at the first hotel we found, which was very affordable, and went exploring. Knowing we don't have a great deal of time as our flight would be leaving at 1300 hours the next day, we tried to pack everything in one night. Visiting local restaurants, walking towards Patronas Towers, and finally checking out the local Club scene. They know how to party in KL, no doubt about that. After a big night, which finished at about 5am we went back to hotel for a few hours to rest, and had a frustrating time trying to catch the next flight. Luckily we made it. We heard our names on the PA system and ran like crazy.
Next stop Bangkok Thailand. Not unlike KL, it was extremely hot and humid. We had finally made it to our hotel which as planned had to be a little more luxurious. Proper rest was in order. On this date (13.04.2009) Thai people begin to celebrate their new year with a lot of water and clay. There is no way to walk the streets without being showered with ice cold water and have clay rubbed on your face every time you pass somebody. It is believed that this will wash away all your sins made in the past and we accepted this as a fun thing to do in this hot atmosphere. After purchasing a couple of super soaker guns we started spraying everyone. IT WAS FUN. We are still in Bangkok and expecting the same thing today as this ritual goes on for five days.
